Connie Procopio
Connie Procopio, originally from the city of brotherly love relocated at the age of ten to the sunshine state where she was raised. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 2000 with a BFA degree in Dance and also performed one season with Moving Current in Tampa. She moved to New York in 2001 simply for having fallen in love with all the jazz the big apple has to offer. Most of her training in New York has been through the Limon Institute having also been invited to take company class in 2002 by Artistic Associate, Nina Watt. She has been performing for Sue Bernhard/DanceWorks since 2002. She has also had the pleasure performing works by Alan Danielson, Maxine Steinman, Raphael Boumailla, and Kathryn Alter. Her own choreography has been performed at festivals in Italy; spectacle de variete de la Maison du Canada in Paris; Limon Institute; Chelsea Pier; One Arm Red/Red Shoes; Bric Studio; School of Performing Arts in Connecticut; and the University of South FloridaTheater Department in Tampa, Florida. Connie is a ballet instructor at Arts Gate Center in Manhattan; ballet, tap, and jazz instructor at the Professional Center for the Arts in Hamilton, NJ, and Amarylis Dance Academy, West New York, NJ. She has been a company member of the Avodah Dance Ensemble since 2003.
