Claire Willey

Claire Willey was born in Sebastopol, Ca and has been an avid dancer from the start. While in High School she was a company member of the Redwood Empire Ballet and attended the California State Summer School for the Arts. After graduation, Claire spent a brief time at Goucher College studying mathematics/Computer Science before transferring to North Carolina School of the Arts and devoting herself entirely to dance. At NCSA, Claire had the opportunity to work with Brenda Daniels, Trish Casey, Diane Markham, Alberto Delsaz, Gerri Houlihan, and many other inspiring artists. In May 2003 she received her BFA in modern dance and moved to New York City. Since then she has continued her studies as a scholarship student at the Merce Cunningham Studio while working with Julia Ritter, Ann Hammel, Notes in Motion and now Avodah.
