Residencies at York Correctional Institution for Women in New London, CT and
Baylor Correctional Institution for Women in New Castle, DE.

With the theme of RITUALS OF TRANSFORMATION, Avodah leads two annual week long residencies teaching and performing with women inmates. The program deeply affects the women who express feeling treated as human beings, increased self-esteem, and deepened committment to following through with oneÕs goals. The women interpret the theme and create movement to express their own private rituals that help them find inner transformation. Guest choreographer and former Avodah dancer, Sidra Bell, set a new work on company members, Amy Osgood, Connie Procopio, and Christin Carlow, called "Language." The piece illustrates tension and tenderness regarding internal and inter-personal communication.
